Billing & Refund Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-27
This policy explains Recued Pro pricing, Paddle checkout, automatic renewal, cancellation, refunds, taxes, invoices, entitlement handling, and billing support.
- Free tier remains free — The marketplace and self-hosted server can be used without a Recued subscription.
- Pro is monthly — Unless checkout says otherwise, Recued Pro is $5.99 per month and renews until canceled.
- Paddle handles checkout — Paddle is merchant of record for paid transactions, taxes, receipts, and refund processing.
1. Products and pricing
Recued's public pricing page describes the current Free, Pro, and self-hosted offerings. Free features include the open marketplace, self-hosted server use, local/manual operation, and supported local controls. The entire engine is free and self-hosted; Pro gates no capability. Paid Pro features are cloud conveniences — a recued.net subdomain (auto-updated DNS) and automatic HTTPS certificate issuance (ACME DNS-01) — each of which a self-hoster can provide for themselves at no charge. The marketplace publisher handle is free with any account.
Unless a checkout or signed order says otherwise, Recued Pro is $5.99 per month. Prices, currency, taxes, billing interval, renewal terms, and the product being purchased are shown before checkout completion.
2. Paddle checkout and merchant of record
Paid Recued transactions are processed by Paddle. Paddle is the merchant of record, so Paddle may collect and process payment method details, buyer information, tax information, fraud-prevention signals, receipts, invoices, renewal notices, chargebacks, refunds, and subscription-management links.
Your card or bank statement may reference Paddle, Recued, or a related descriptor. Recued does not store full card numbers, bank account numbers, or CVC/CVV codes.
3. Automatic renewal
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the billing interval shown at checkout until canceled. For monthly Recued Pro, this means the subscription renews each month unless you cancel before the next renewal date.
Paddle checkout and receipt flows may include additional recurring billing disclosures, consent prompts, payment method update links, and subscription-management links required by law or by Paddle policy.
4. Trials and free access
You may use Free Recued features without a paid subscription. If Recued offers a free trial for paid Pro features, the checkout or in-product billing flow will explain whether a payment method is required, when the trial ends, when paid billing starts, and how to cancel before being charged.
5. How to cancel
You can cancel a Recued Pro subscription using any available cancellation path:
- Use the "Manage subscription" or similar link in your Paddle receipt or transaction email.
- Use the billing-management link or customer portal from your Recued account when available.
- Email billing@recued.com from your account email and include enough information for us to identify the subscription.
- Contact Paddle through paddle.net if you need buyer-side subscription help.
Unless a cancellation flow states otherwise, cancellation stops future renewals and paid access remains active until the end of the current paid billing period. Immediate cancellation may be used for fraud, abuse, account closure, chargeback, legal compliance, or support cases.
6. Refunds
You can request a refund through your Paddle receipt, Paddle's buyer support flow, the Recued billing page when available, or by emailing billing@recued.com. Include the buyer email, transaction id if available, subscription id if available, and a short explanation of the issue.
If you are entitled to a refund under applicable law, Paddle policy, or this policy, the refund will be processed to the original payment method where possible after approval. Processing time depends on Paddle, the payment method, and the issuing bank.
Recued will generally approve refunds for duplicate charges, accidental paid upgrades that are reported promptly, billing mistakes, and persistent product defects that prevent access to the paid feature described at checkout. Voluntary cancellation normally stops future renewal but does not create a prorated refund for time already paid, unless applicable law, Paddle policy, or Recued support grants one.
7. Statutory withdrawal and consumer rights
Consumer refund and withdrawal rights vary by location. Paddle's refund policy and applicable consumer law may provide cooling-off or withdrawal rights for some digital content or service transactions. Your statutory rights are not limited by this policy.
If a law in your location gives you a stronger refund, cancellation, tax, invoice, or dispute right than this page, that law controls for your transaction.
8. Taxes, invoices, and receipts
Paddle calculates, collects, remits, and documents applicable taxes as merchant of record. Receipts and invoices are provided by Paddle. If your business is tax-exempt or needs corrected billing information, use the receipt or Paddle buyer support flow, or contact billing@recued.com so we can help route the request.
9. Failed payments and access changes
If a renewal payment fails, Paddle may retry payment, send payment update emails, or mark the subscription past due. Recued may pause, downgrade, or remove paid hosted convenience features when a subscription is unpaid, canceled, charged back, refunded, or otherwise no longer active.
Local and self-hosted functionality is separate from the paid cloud-convenience entitlement. Because Pro gates no capability, canceling it leaves your local browser and self-hosted server — and everything they do — untouched; it only stops the cloud conveniences Recued operates for you (the recued.net subdomain, certificate issuance, and reserved marketplace handle), which you can replace with your own DDNS, certificate, and publisher handle.
10. Chargebacks and disputes
If you do not recognize a charge, contact Paddle or Recued billing support before opening a payment dispute where practical. Chargebacks may cause Paddle or Recued to suspend the related entitlement while the dispute is investigated.
11. Billing support
Billing and refund questions can be sent to billing@recued.com. General support questions can be sent to support@recued.com. Privacy requests should be sent to privacy@recued.com.
